Getting Ready for Big School Program
As children move from their early preschool years into Kindergarten, the change from play to learning can be a big step. Kindergarten has so many wonderful firsts. Yet, some of these firsts can pose their own challenges. At Flying Colours Education, our trained and experienced teachers know a thing of two about the skills required to make a positive start to the Big School journey. Our unique Getting Ready for Big School program is designed to build solid foundations that help with a child’s ongoing success at school.
Let’s Learn Through Play
Our preschool program takes the joy of play and directs its focus on developing skills essential for Kindergarten success.
We use lots of play and hand’s on approaches.
All teachers for this program are Early Childhood Trained.
Literacy Skills
Working alongside the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), we use traditional and modern methods of developing early literacy skills such as phonological awareness, decoding and letter formation.
Numeracy Skills
We understand the need to develop early awareness of number sense, including number recognition, formation and simple addition, subtraction and the concepts of groups.
Independence Skills
The Flying Colours Education Getting Ready for Big School Program focusses on skills of independence that help with the transition into primary school.
